Sunroom Conversion & New Deck Addition
In the backyard, the scope involved a significant structural change: converting the existing deck into a custom sunroom. This transformation provided the homeowners with a bright, weather-protected extension of their indoor living area that allows for comfortable relaxation regardless of the season.
To maintain a connection to the open air, we constructed a new deck extension adjacent to the sunroom. This design choice offers the best of both worlds—a climate-controlled sanctuary and a dedicated open-air space for grilling and entertaining. As showcased in the project video, the design seamlessly integrates the new sunroom structure and deck extension with the home’s original architecture.
Front Porch Renovation with AZEK Decking
The renovation also included a complete overhaul of the front porch to achieve a premium, lasting finish. We removed the aging wood flooring and replaced it with AZEK’s Vintage Collection PVC decking in the color Cypress. This material selection offers the warm, natural look of wood without the maintenance requirements of sanding or staining.
To create a furniture-grade aesthetic, our team utilized a "picture frame" installation method. We installed the main field of the deck at a 90-degree angle using CONCEALoc hidden fasteners, bordered by square-shouldered boards secured with Cortex plugs. This attention to detail eliminates visible screws, resulting in a smooth, polished surface. The upgrade was completed with matching AZEK fascia and a crisp white metal trim wrap on the porch beam, ensuring the front entry makes a flawless first impression.
