Award-Winning Kitchen Contractor Completes Bon Air Kitchen Remodel
The original floor plan of this home was highly constrained and closed off, limiting the potential of the living area and making everyday tasks feel cramped. The homeowners knew they needed a massive transformation, which is why they sought out an award-winning kitchen contractor to handle the complex structural changes required. Our team completely reimagined the space, undertaking a massive remodel that ultimately earned the 2020 NARI Runner Up award for a Residential Kitchen over $100K. By totally changing the floor plan, we were able to unlock the true potential of the home.
Kitchen Addition Chesterfield: Creating an Open Concept White Kitchen
To fix the flow and provide the square footage the homeowners desperately needed, we executed a complex kitchen addition in Chesterfield. This was not a simple cabinet swap; we expanded the layout by engineering a massive 13-foot 2-inch wide opening to breathe life and light into the interior. Supporting the second-story load required extensive structural work, including the installation of laminated veneer lumber beams and new masonry footings. We even relocated a limiting waste pipe up into the ceiling framework, using closed-cell foam insulation to maximize the ceiling height.
The result is a breathtaking open concept white kitchen that completely changes how the family lives and entertains. To enhance the flow even further, we replaced existing windows with a four-panel glass door, linking the newly expanded space to the sunroom. This clever integration allows the family to open the entire area up for large gatherings or close the glass doors when privacy is needed.
Luxury Finishes with Wellborn Glacier White Cabinets and Calacatta Vicenza Countertops
The aesthetic of this stunning renovation is built on a sophisticated mix of black and white tones. To anchor the bright and airy room, we installed Wellborn Glacier White cabinets in the classic Bishop door style. This provided a crisp, clean foundation that perfectly highlights the room's new proportions.
The centerpiece of the completely changed floor plan is the oversized, long island, which serves as the heart of the room, offering abundant prep space and casual seating. For the surfaces, we selected gorgeous Calacatta Vicenza countertops sourced from Classic Granite. The subtle, elegant veining of the stone adds an element of natural luxury and sophisticated movement to the design. The combination of these timeless finishes with the massive structural expansion results in a space that is incredibly functional, highly organized, and absolutely stunning.
