We transformed this lush, wooded property by beautifully restoring a historic gazebo into a serene retreat showcasing intricate Victorian-inspired detailing, a striking sunburst gable motif, and a custom-painted exposed-rafter ceiling. Enhanced by strategic illumination that creates a breathtaking nighttime ambiance, this beautifully redone structure delivers a whimsical yet highly refined outdoor living space that perfectly honors its history.
A Beautifully Redone Historic Gem
The goal for this project was to breathe new life into a forgotten historic gazebo nestled deep within the property's mature trees. Rather than replacing it, our team meticulously restored and enhanced the structure, creating a shaded destination that invites homeowners and guests to walk down the flagstone path and experience the landscape from a completely new perspective. Sized perfectly for comfortable outdoor seating, it serves as an idyllic sanctuary for morning coffee, reading, or evening entertaining.
Stunning Architectural Craftsmanship
A true Paragon Construction build is defined by its details, and this 2024 Grand Winner is packed with them. Honoring its classic Victorian and Gothic Revival roots, our carpentry team restored the steeply pitched roof and its intricate, scalloped edge fascia. The focal point of the exterior is the stunning sunburst motif in the front gable, painted in soft gold and light blue. Inside, we left the vaulted rafter system exposed and painted it a traditional light blue. A classic Southern design choice that keeps the space feeling bright and expansive.
Seamless Landscape & Nighttime Magic
To ensure the gazebo felt like a natural extension of the garden, we carefully selected materials that bridge the gap between refined architecture and raw nature. The natural cedar shake roof and rich, warm-toned decking ground the structure, while the crisp white framing gives it a polished, high-end finish.
Perhaps the most magical element of this restoration is how it transforms after dark. As showcased in our nighttime shots, integrated ambient lighting illuminates the blue vaulted ceiling and white architecture, ensuring this historic garden retreat glows beautifully as the sun goes down.
