This extensive Powderham overhaul completely modernized the home's curb appeal with a premium James Hardie siding upgrade, while also transforming the backyard into a multi-level outdoor retreat. Serving as our foundational first project for these now-repeat clients, we integrated a low-maintenance composite deck and a custom paver patio to deliver a beautifully structured property built for effortless entertaining.

The primary goal was to completely revitalize the home's exterior envelope from the street to the backyard, ensuring the property was protected against the elements while significantly boosting its curb appeal and outdoor functionality.
Total Envelope Upgrade & Curb Appeal
To modernize the home's aesthetic, we wrapped the entire exterior in premium James Hardie fiber-cement siding. The deep gray lap siding provides a striking, timeless contrast against the home's original brick foundation, which is highlighted by a highly precise installation line. We amplified the traditional facade by installing new dark raised-panel shutters and finishing the front portico with crisp white trim.
Attention to detail defines a true exterior transformation. The envelope upgrade included brand-new white vented soffits, an upgraded gutter system, and crisp new trim framing the garage, ensuring every inch of the home’s exterior is polished and low-maintenance.
A Low-Maintenance Backyard Deck
In the backyard, we completely reimagined the transition from the house to the yard by building a sprawling, low-maintenance composite deck. The deck boards feature a highly durable, realistic wood-grain texture that withstands the elements without the need for constant staining. Framed by a crisp white composite railing system with tailored post caps, the extra-wide cascading stairs flow naturally downward into the hardscaping.
Precision Hardscaping & The Paver Patio
To ground the lower level, we designed a large patio and adjoining walkway using multi-tonal gray pavers, highlighted by a contrasting border course that visually defines the seating areas. The space is expertly enclosed by a custom retaining wall built from split-face textured blocks and smooth capstones. This masonry feature separates the outdoor dining and lounge area from the lawn while providing built-in seating for larger gatherings.
