Every incredible transformation begins with solving a problem. For these Henrico homeowners, the issue was a dark, constrained layout that made daily life difficult. The original kitchen was isolated from the rest of the home by an unnecessary divider wall, and a bulky peninsula further compressed the usable footprint. Our team recognized that an open concept kitchen renovation was the key to unlocking the home's true potential, ultimately earning us the title of 2021 NARI Grand Winner for Residential Kitchen under $100K.

Creating a seamless flow required more than just a cosmetic update; it required smart structural problem-solving. We began by removing the obtrusive divider wall separating the kitchen from the hallway. During the demolition phase, we discovered a larger-than-expected plumbing drain line hidden inside an angular back wall. To save the homeowners from complex, multi-level rerouting costs, our team devised a creative solution to shorten the wall by fifty percent, keeping the waste line intact while still drastically opening up the room.

Additionally, we encountered a load-bearing wall next to the range where a standard cabinet could not be placed. Instead of settling for an unsightly gap, we custom-designed the cabinetry to notch seamlessly around the wall, maintaining a sleek, cohesive, and custom-built profile.

Crisp White Kitchen Design Featuring Wellborn Bishop Bleu Cabinets

With the structural challenges resolved, we focused on bringing the homeowners' vision to life. To keep the newly opened space feeling bright and expansive, we utilized a crisp white kitchen design for the perimeter cabinetry. We installed Wellborn Bishop door style cabinets in a classic white finish, providing a clean and timeless backdrop that reflects natural light beautifully.

To anchor the room, we replaced the old peninsula with a highly functional contrast island finished in Wellborn's striking Bleu. This rich navy tone pairs perfectly with the luxurious Silestone Eternal Calacatta Gold countertops sourced from Classic Granite. The elegant veining in the quartz ties the color palette together, resulting in a space that is incredibly polished, highly functional, and completely transformed.
