We transformed an existing elevated deck footprint into a bright, custom four-season sunroom addition that blends seamlessly with the home's original architecture. Featuring climate-controlled comfort, vaulted ceilings, and a step-out composite deck, this design-build project delivers the ultimate year-round indoor-outdoor retreat while preserving essential under-deck storage.
From Open Deck to Year-Round Retreat
The goal of this project was to maximize the home’s outdoor footprint by converting an existing open deck into a multi-functional, year-round living space. By enclosing a large portion of the original footprint, we created a true four-season sunroom while preserving a dedicated open-air deck area perfectly tailored for grilling, dining, and outdoor entertaining.
Seamless Architectural Integration
Because this addition needed to sit atop an existing foundation footprint and tie into a complex existing roofline, precision craftsmanship was key. Our team meticulously matched the sunroom's exterior to the home, ensuring the new roofline, light grey lap siding, and crisp white trim felt like an original piece of the architecture rather than an afterthought. The result is a structure that looks and functions perfectly with the rest of the property.
Elevated Indoor-Outdoor Living
The final build perfectly bridges the gap between indoor luxury and outdoor living. Inside, the sunroom is wrapped in expansive, energy-efficient windows and finished with elegant marble-look porcelain tile. A dedicated ductless mini-split HVAC system guarantees absolute climate control no matter the weather. A sliding glass door connects this interior lounge directly to the newly rebuilt composite deck. By incorporating sleek, modern black aluminum railings, the exterior aesthetic was instantly modernized while maintaining the incredibly functional hidden storage space directly beneath the sunroom.
